Two Graphics Cards (Non-SLI) - Will it downclock the faster card?

I currently have a MSI N650-MD1GD5/OC GeForce GTX 650 in my setup. I'm looking to replace it with a newer and better Nvidia card. I took a list at the PhysX compatibility list and it doesn't look like the normal 650 (non Ti) is compatible... which means I'd be left with a card just sitting around. I was thinking about running 2 monitors off the new card, and using 1 or 2 of them for gaming. And then running a thrid monitor off the second card for just desktop management, not to game on if that's possible.

I've never used 2 cards in one PC before without using SLI. I've read that it's possible and can be used to run more monitors. My question is if it will affect the speed of the faster video card? I wouldn't want the faster card downclocking itself or something. I figured I would check with you all first. Thanks for the help!

See that's what I thought originally. But It's a 650 not a 650 Ti and when I looked it up, it seems all the official stuff says only the Ti and above supports PhysX. Any experience to the contrary?
