This computer i bought came with a Foxconn H61MD Motherboard...
I took it home once I saw it side-by-side with my old pc, i noticed that the motherboard is way smaller, had less slots for pci/pci-e and kind of looked dull (cosmetically) compared with the old pc's Gigabyte GA-G41MT-s2. would this smaller motherboard affect performance in any way? or am i just wrong thinking bigger is better??

intel core i5- 3570
foxconn h61md
windows 7 home premium x64
nvidia gtx 650 ti boost 1gb
4gb ram 1333 EVM (a Strontium make i think)

No. Modern motherboards are smaller and have less PCI slots. That will not affect performance.

Perhaps your old MB is an ATX and the new one a mATX.......

so it's just me being paranoid. here i was thinking that store sold me a bundled pc with a cheap-a$$ mobo., i was hoping to see one of those fine-looking motherboards in there with dem vibrant colors and what not. :D  so if in theory, if i changed motherboards, i won't gain anything worth the change??

When you changed motherboards you have gain performance. Old one was worse. if you would change a motherboard now to a bigger one, you would make a mistake. Performace would me the same.
