Ok i have a dell optiplex 755 with windows xp home edition 32bit installed one day it would not boot what happens is the windows xp loading screen appears as the bar is about to move it crashes the system reboots the partition has 11gbs free and it is not corrupted. I don't remember when this happened but i installed windows 8 alongside it recently. Now i could go in the recovery console in the setup and fix it right? its about to load it blue screens and says "*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0XF7A10524, 0XC00000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)" the first menu and the setup crash's with a blue screen. (i would use a CD but the CD/DVD drive does not work so i have to use a USB i know the USB is not corrupted i have used it in other machines before) I cant get into safe mode or any other boot options without it crashing what do i do to fix it i don't really want to install windows at all if i can avoid it. Also a thing to note in windows 8 i scanned the windows xp partition for viruses it came up with 20 viruses i removed them and then i rebooted and before the windows boot manager it said "scanning and repairing drive (D: ) 31% complete" and it got stuck there then it stayed like that for half an hour then it rebooted nothing still did not work

Install EasyBCD Community Edition in Windows 8. You can use it to add Windows XP to the Windows 8 bootloader. It's Easy to use but in case you need help, check the EasyBCD tutorial at the kioskea website. If it doesn't help, it's possible the viruses you removed may have corrupted or deleted System files. The boot activity of "scanning and repairing drive D:", is probably the Disk Checker (chkdsk) doing necessary repairs to recover damaged disk sectors and/or fixing file system errors, so it's likely that also WinXP system files may have been corrupted or deleted by the viruses... and the only way to restore them is with a repair-installation of Windows XP.

Sometimes corrupted BIOS settings cause non-bootable situations. So, to get the installation going you can try configuring the BIOS to default or failproof settings and if necessary do a reset switching the BIOS jumper or removing the battery for a few minutes.

thank you so much i will try it right away also i don't think it had bad viruses i did not download anything suspious it mainly had tracking cookies nothing to bad and if their was a virus i would have known about it but thank you

Any virus is a bad virus.. and 20 moderate viruses can do moderate damage 20 times over.. They can download from unsuspected websites without warning if the antivirus is not adequate or isn't configured to block them and pop a warning on the screen. Other possibilities are Removable Storage Media CDs, DVDs, floppys, USB Flash drives.. They can carry viruses and malware if the data stored on them is not scanned everytime before burning/storage, and even if it is, there is no Antivirus that's a 100% safe. They are only as safe & effective as their virus deffinitions and these are never up to date, to be so, virus developers would have to colaborate with Antivirus developers.

So, viral damage is a distinct possibility. Read the Microsoft KB324103 for this and other possible causes.

Quote from KB324103
Boot-Sector Viruses

You may receive a "Stop 0x0000007B" error message if your computer is infected with a boot-sector virus. If the problem is intermittent and you can start Windows, check your computer for viruses. If you find a virus, also check any floppy disks for viruses before you use them again.
