I have an older machine that will not POST when I install a PCI v2.2 board. I finally learned that the MOBO is only rated to PCI v2.1. Is there any way around this? If the solution is a new system, that's OK and would understand. I use this old system in the garage to pull-up technical manuals for vehicles that I'm working on (PDF files from the dealerships). I was going to install an Intel PRO/1000 MT Server adapter that I had laying around to see if I could eek-out a bit more "image backup" performance in terms of MB/sec. The onboard 100Mbps chip does do OK but why not try and why not ask, eh? Thanks.
