Hey Everyone,

Ive tried to do my research on PCI slots but I cant seem to get a detailed answer. Im saving up to upgrade my current graphics card. AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series. From what I have read online, my PCI slot is X16.

My PC model is: HPE-570f

Now as an example I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade to this:

EVGA 04G-P4-3778-KR GeForce GTX 770 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

But how do I know if I have express 3.0? None of my product sites tell me anything. The only thing I know is that I would need to upgrade my power supply I believe. If that card is not compatible, whats the best card that I can put in it? Im trying to get it setup for gaming, Im going to be adding some RAM as well but I think I have that covered.

Thank you for your time everyone :)

Hi. You do have a PCIe x16 slot. Even if it is 2.0, the 3.0 card is backwards compatible. Having said that, the biggest issue is going to be the power supply. As a rule they usually only have enpough Power supply to power what it there with very little headroom, and certainly not enough for that card. That would have to be upgraded as well.

Thank you! Could you help me with a power supply that would work? Should I just go for a really high voltage one so that I can keep upgrading without worrying or would that cause damage? My main goals are a new graphics card, a new fan setup (main fans and RAM fans, my pc already runs kinda on the high side) and then I'm going to upgrade my RAM to 16 using 4 X 4 slots. I'm sure all of these things will add to my power needs.
