I launch dota 2 fine. But when i play the tutorial and get to the point where i have to get to level 6, it crashes and i cant do anything on my pc. Not even open task manager. I have to turn the pc off at the mains to unfreeze. All my graphics are on low and i'm playing at the lowest resolution. Someone please help me????

Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz
Radeon 9550
3GB DDR2 Ram

Maybe not, here are the minimum requirements and it looks like you have that:

The only time I have run into issues like that was due to the wrong graphics card ( had upgraded the card and didn't do my homework on the specs and ended up with a 64 bit card; not the thing for playing The Witcher ). I checked and your card is 128 bit, so that shouldn't be an issue. You are playing the Tutorial, so that is off line I am assuming. If you are playoing that online, then that brings in a host of other things that doesn't even pertain to your computer, such as server issues.

So why is it freezing? I really want to play with my mates on Dota, but i dont wanna wait 3 weeks to get my gaming build back. :(

Okay. You won't. I thought maybe the Tutorial may have been playable offline, but that isn't gonna happen. That is a multiplayer online thing anyway, as far as I know, I know what the Minimum requirements show, but that is an older game I think, and may have been optimized for newer stuff. There could also be issues between your hardware and the servers as well. What Operating System are you running?

Library/Dota 2/Proporties/Launch Options -novid -nod3d9ex -console (add this) Usually helps with freezing/shuttering
Run game in windows borderless mode - Helps me with random freezing/crashes

Why would you even play tutorial ? Are you learning game ? In that case ok, but my point is that you can create custom lobby which will be hosted on internet and try out with Bots. If game doesnt crash after one match then it's something due to recent patches. Best solution is to disable Cloud Sync and do clean install.

I've only just got Dota 2. Anyway, is there any way to completely stop the freezing? Please make a step by step tutorial, i'm new to PC gaming.

Recently a lot of people have issues with Dota 2. I myself with current config which is in description also have FPS shuttering when I try to connect on any server for second time, so I need to restart Dota 2 after every match. I'm saying that just to warn you, dont loose hope because of that.

You should go in steam, open your library, right click on dota 2 and then choose proporties. Go into launch options settings and add:
-novid -nod3d9ex -console

-novid will remove intro with bawl man after you start dota (possible memory issues due to that intro for no reason), -nod3d9ex will force your dota to run in dx9 mode (for some people shuttering/freezing is completely fixed), -console will enable you to open console while you are in game, there you can do a lot to tweak even more your dota 2 game.

Also make sure to run game in Windows Borderless mode with your native resolution if it's possible, that way you will not see difference but game will work better in most cases, especially with ATI cards.

Edit: I just found that people are actually forced to complete tutorial ? Hm ok, make sure that you turn OFF all settings in video settings. I myself keep turned OFF everything except Textures - HIGH, and Render Quality at MAX. Since that PC is fairly low you might wanna try with medium and Render Qual somewhere in middle (it's slider in option).

Also if nothing there helps you and noone else doesnt have any suggestion, you should try and open thread at dev.dota2, that is basically forum where you can ask for issues.

Hopefully I helped you.
