Is it a good idea to go this route? Or 760 2 way sli which will be about 100$ or more more expensive?
The reason i want dual cards is because i cant afford a better at once. Next card will probably go in a few months after the first one.
Cheers

While AMD's ver 13.10 beta driver has greatly improved the micro-stutter issue in CF with Frame Pacing, Nvidia's firmware solution is slightly better. And of course the GTX 760 seems to show slightly better frame rate in many games. Since the 2nd card will be a while away, I'd go for the GTX 760.

well clearly the 760 is the better card but i dont know if its worth 25% in price.

I don't know either. That is a financial decision only you can make. I doubt you will be disappointed no matter which card(s) you choose, in reality. The R9 270x is basically a re-branded HD 7870 with some improvements. I had a previous rig with 2 x HD 7870 OC cards (i7-875K) that performed great at 1080p with the beta driver. No m-s that I could discern and smooth game play at high/max settings in every game.

That's what I wanted to hear. So it worked without making trouble? Some say its a pain to get crossfire to work?

crossfire is so easy to work besides on the new beta driver no M-S at all a 2X7870's will even preform faster than single 7970 tested on battlefield 4 BETA and its running 70 fps on ultra fullHD 1080 so smooth that you think its a girl

What kind of a girl we talking about, french or russian? :D
Just waiting for the 270x msi gaming to release in my country and if its 50$ or more cheaper then the 760 gaming il go with the AMD. My only fear was if its going to drive me crazy and make problems with CF. But if it works good i'll go with it.

no girl like french girls no doubt i will even chose over 3-way crossfire 7990 :)
270x is the same of 7870 with just few more memory modifications i still recommend 7870 or 7950

I've had/built several systems with both SLI and CF. I've never had any problems with dual cards, or heat, or getting CF/SLI to work. I don't know where all the bad rumors come from about SLI/CF.

Just ordered a single R9 270x msi gaming for 200$. It will look so nice in my case with the g45 gaming mobo :D
Don't think its wise to spend lots of money on a gpu with a LCD 1080p monitor.
