Have had issues with my motherboard sound crackling after a time of being running. A reboot fixes the problem until I use audio for a bit (usually after 6 hours or so the static crackle starts kicking in). Posted on a thread on motherboards and end result since it does it with any audio device I have connected, was suggested the board sound might be bad. The z87x-GD65 MSI board is rather new and as such, MSI doesnt even have one available to replace it, since they dont do new replacements only refurbished. Wished I hadnt gone with MSI but Ive chased the tail of the problem for long enough that I am passed a 30 day return period.
I am considering purchasing a sound card to place in my computer, but normally I run all sound through my HDMI with my GPU. So even with a sound card I wouldnt be able to have audio go through HDMI since I assume that it would still use onboard audio drivers and such. I had thought that the GPU translated its own audio standalone from the motherboard.

What thoughts might you forumites have as a work around?
