Yes the Sapphire has the better cooling solution whether you go with the Toxic, which is the best of all of the 280X's and is $350, or the Vapor-X is a decent choice also and goes for 320

It will be $60 more, in the the same range as an ASUS MATRIX R9 280X, the MSi or Sapphire Vapor-X is the most cost effective "black or blue colored" option, what is your full proposed specs?

I still think that the Gigabyte Windforce R9-280X is the best of them. None of the other cards in HD 7970 configuration were given gold awards by hardocp (which only really gives golds to nVidia cards).

Well, the Gigabyte board should be good, although their final revision of the 7970 was pretty much a POS for enthusiast overclockers, since it was voltage locked. The Windforce is a nice choice overall though. Specs refer to the system specifications, what is the PC you are putting the card in?

In Furmark stress testing the VaporX reached a max temp of 71. While stress testing the Gigabyte hit max of 75. So close there. Under load the Gigabyte reached a noisy 44DBa while under load the VaporX only reached 35DBa.
