My current heatsink is having issues, and I need a new one but I'm not sure what's compatible with it. I have an Intel core i5 3570k (Ivy Bridge) and I'm looking at this to replace it.

At that price I'd get the Xigmatek Dark Knight II or Thermaltake Frio.

It's compatible with almost every cpu so it should work fine.
Hope it helps!
Ps I use this in my system and it's so good!

That link says the cooler is ONLY compatible with AMD. Just geta Evo cooler. Great cooler and quiet.

Yeah, EVO is good, I'm thinking about changing myself and seeing if I can sqeak 4.8 Ghz out of this 4770k. :)

I haven't had a chance to test the "updated" versions of the ETS-T40 yet, and the reviews I have seen thusfar as still sketchy. That said, I am just not sure if they new ones are worth the extra money. I do have the basic version ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... ) which is price a lot more reasonably. It's a stalwart cooler that I have no problems recommending, unless you plan on doing some crazy overclocks.

I am assuming that your budget is around $50, so another good cooler to look at would be the Phanteks PH-TC12DX. The initial cost might be a sizable sum as well, but that cost is made up by the fact that it comes with two fans and a PWM splitter.

If you're willing to go higher, both the Noctua NH-D14 and the Phanteks PH-TC14PE, two of the kings of air cooling, are on sale for roughly $75 dollars. That's a really good buy.

The thing is though, I need it to also work with this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... Most of these new heatsink fans seem to require me putting some sort of latch on the other end of the motherboard.

A cursory glance says that even the Hyper 212 EVO might be a really tight fit with that case. (The ETS-T40 is 1mm taller, so probably won't fit.)

The Thermalright True Spirit 120M might be a better choice.

At 7.5 inches total, that isn't much. then with the Motherboard tray sitting up some, you are looking at maybe 7 inches total room. My case is approx. 8.5 Inches across, and I have about 1'' clearance between the top of my cooler and the cover.
