Everything crashes my Kernel Mode driver

I have a EVGA GTX 770 (part number: 02G-P4-2774-KR)

When playing certain games my Kernel mode driver crashes. It's happened with Fallout: New Vegas, Red Orchestra 2, Xcom: Enemy Unknown, and Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. It doesn't crash when playing Dota 2, Bastion, or running a benchmark.

Things I've tried to fix it

-Changed PCIe slots
-Installed 3 different versions of drivers, all clean installs
-Set Power management mode to max in Nvidia Control Panel
-Checked power to the card, it was fine
-Removed Windows Update KB 2670838
-Uninstalled HD Audio drivers

At this point, the only solutions I have left are to try to underclock it to Nvidia recommended base clock speed (I have no idea how) and reinstall Windows 7.

Anybody ever experience anything like this before?

what are your specs?

guess a mobo BOIS update might help, or ram issue.

Have you tried the beta drivers out right now for Nvidia? I have an EVGA 770 as well and had a few problems with the driver crashing on me as well, mostly during internet surfing, not gaming though. Since I installed the latest beta I haven't had a single crash. Not sure it will work for you since you seem to have different timing with your issue :-/ Give it a shot if you haven't yet, I'd also like to ask what power supply you are running because inconsistent power from a cheaper or dying PSU can cause this error as well.

I have an XFX Pro 750W Black edition PSU. Could any of the power cables being faulty cause this problem? I have some extra, I could try swapping them out.

I tried the 320.49, 327.23, and 331.40 beta drivers, all with the same problems. My motherboard BIOS should be up to date, but I'll try updating it anyways.

You can give it a shot, from what I've read, the reason the kernel driver stalls out is because the GPU takes too long to respond to windows, and I've seen any number of issues cause this, some we never were able to figure out. My last Nvidia card had this problem as well, it was a 560ti, took me ages to figure out what was causing it, turned out it was my PSU, an OCZ Silent Pro. Luckily I had an spare PSU on hand and was able to switch it out for the troubleshoot, but as many times as I've seen that work and fix the problem, I've seen it not be the issue as well. Worth ticking it off the list though, seems like you've gone down the major list of fixes off the net lol. Do you have a spare PSU to test out? I really would hate to have you buy a new one and then find out it isn't the issue :-/ That really is a solid power supply, so I would be surprised if that was the problem honestly, you never know though, at least it has a 5 year warranty if it is lol

Well, I'm going to RMA my card. If that doesn't fix it... I guess I'll RMA the power supply, too. If that doesn't fix it, then I guess I'm just cursed.

cool, good luck man, hope you get it figured out. Really sucks to get a beast of a card like that and not even be able to use it. Luckily EVGA's RMA process and service is excellent, so that should go smoothly for you :-)
