Want to know if this Raedon HD 7770 is compatible

Im still new to computers and how they work. I was told the one i have is an on-die GPU, and that i should get a discrete card for better graphics. Im also unsure if the two graphic cards (if i get it) are used together or not.

  1. Well the 300 watt PSU is going to limit you to HD7750. It does state that it has a free PCIe slot but does not confirm that it is X16 which would be needed for a discrete card.

    What is X16?
    would this one work?
  3. Almost all motherboards have at least one PCI-e x16 slot. I don't know of any socket FM2 mobos which do not have such a slot. But it's always good to look up whatever mobo you have to confirm.

There was an article that review dual graphics with the A10-6800k and a few graphics card. It can't seem to find it. But basically it revealed that pairing up the iGPU and a Radeon HD 7750 showed very little performance gain compared to just the HD 7750 by itself. Installing a Radeon HD 6670 / HD 7660 (same card different name) provided the best results. The Radeon HD 7770 is probably not supported by dual graphics at all. Additionally, the Radeon HD 7770 draws too much power for a 300w PSU especially since AMD CPUs draws more power than Intel CPUs.

The graphics card slot has to be PCIe X16 slot.
