where does this hookup on the motherboard? I'm guessing the usb 2.0 header 8_9

Read your motherboard manual. If there is IEE 1394 (aka FireWire), it will be clearly labeled.

No firewire header for the H77M so, don't connect the case 1394 cable.
If needing a firewire port, you can install a PCI based firewire card.
