i have a hp 2000 something like that how do i know witch ram sticks i need i need to get to 8gb i have 4 but 3.60 useable how do i now what i need

Here is Crucial's automatic system scanner:

http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/

It will tell you everything you need to know about how much memory is installed and how much it can handle. Also, Right click on the "Computer" icon and select "properties", in the window that opens, it should tell you if you are running a 64-bit OS or not, among other information.
