Hi,

I have a HP Slimline S5560F
Windows 7 pro 64bits
When I put all 6GB (3 x 2GB) the computer will sometimes
- start normally or
- the fans will just spin indefinitely and nothing will show on the monitor or
- it will keep rebooting during windows loading or
- it will crash (after Windows has loaded) and the monitor will show all weird lines or I get a blue screen with message error.

But, if I only put 1 memory stick (no matter which one) in the 4th bay, no problem.
I did a memory test Memtest86+ with all 3 memory sticks and found no problem.

So, can anyone help me, please?

start with one stick in the know good slot. run memtest86 on all three ram sticks see if any fail memtest. if there no error try two sticks and make sure there in the same bank. if they run fine swap them to the other bank. then swap in the other dimm see if it runs fine. if it does and the system fails with three dimms it could be a cpu or mb issue because one bank is trying to run in duel mode the other slot is in singel channel mode. with the ram also check that there all three the same brand and sped from the vendor. use cpu-z and read the ram under the memory tab.

Hi,

Tried every single stick, no error.
I even tried once with all three sticks installed and no error.
The memory sticks are the original sold with the computer.
Then, it should be either the motherboard or cpu.
How to check it?
Thank you.
