I just installed a 212 evo to my cpu and i have my rig open and it seems its too much for my back fan. Which way should my cpu fan be facing ? I have the fan faced head on with the rear fan on my case. Should it be on the other side? I dont want to kill my rear fan.

it should blow air through the heatsink toward the back of the case.

It should blow either towards the rear of the air, or upwards.

This is assuming that you have a newer model case with the PSU on the bottom, and you at least have proper top ventilation.

Is this how its supposed to be placed ? I had the fan on the other side and just switched it to this .

Yep, that's good. You may also face it so the fan is exhausting towards the top.

yep. just know some heatpipes on some coolers only work in certain orientations. so facing it up may result in 5C-10C worse performance for your cpu cooler. I don't have a list of which coolers don't work in that orientation so it would be a toss of the dice really.

Personally i loved my thermalright ultra 120 pointed up toward the top vent. stuck two fans on it in push pull, and another fan on top... created one hell of a wind tunnel effect in that case... sucked air right out, created some incredible airflow.
