When I run visualization programs in Windows Media Player (or any other music program), the temperature of my GPU (according to Speedfan) reaches 158F.

To increase ventilation, I ususally keep one side of my PC case open. After I installed a Thermaltake Mobile Fan II External USB Cooling Fan near the graphics card, the temp. dropped by 8 degrees, which is still too high for my taste.

Aside from putting an ice bag on top of the card, what else can I do to lower the temp., or am I being overly concerned about this issue.

Solution
But for Windows Media Player, that seems pretty hot... what video card do you have? you can install MSI afterburner and configure a fan curve for temperature and fan speeds. (at the same time you could try blowing out the fans with some compressed air, tidy cable management etc.)
