hello,

I have local internet connection in home, i thought of buying wireless internet, so i brought D-link 150 dsl 2730u (which is both modem +router) today morning,

After opening the cover box i had surprise waiting for me the input to D-link product is RJ11 cable but i had RJ45 cable as input (WAN) in my previous modem

so anyone please suggest me how to go about this is there anything like RJ45 female to RJ11 male converter(so my WAN port can be fitted by RJ11 male) or do i need to get my product replaced?

please reply at the earliest
thank you for your reply in advance

Solution
The router you bought is for an adsl type connection.
That is why it has an RJ11 connector as part of the modem router.

If the current modem router you are using is adsl then you need to swap that box for the new D-link 150 router.

The RJ11 connector is there because it connects the router to the phone line socket, with the cable that is provided in the D-link box. RJ11 to phone plug connection.

Please note: Before you swap the old router modem for the new D-link 150
You will or may have to log in to the old router to obtain the account settings.
The user name and the password to log on or authorize you for the adsl service provided.

These must be set up in the new D-link 150 router once you have all the details, if not done then...

In most adsl routers a user name and password is required and stored within the router. It will say this in the manual for the D-link router.
You must set this up in the routers settings by logging into it and providing the details.

Simply replace the old modem router with the new one if you currently have an adsl modem that provides your broadband through the phone line.
