front header question

Hello can anyone tell me if i accidentally hook up my front panel connectors to one of the usb headers would that cost my pc not to post?

In short yes.

I take it you have at least 2 usb connectors at the front of the case.
And inside you have the two usb blocks from them to connect to the motherboard usb headers.

Because USB headers carry a 5v+ power supply and a 5v-
So connecting anything other than a usb header with cause a short to the motherboard.

Any problem like that would or may cause the motherboard not to power up or post. It is a short circuit.

dammm really i would of thought it would have a safety feature against that sort of thing i get power but no boot its a new build so i dont know if it can be something else costing me not to post

Hey thanks for your input but luckily nothing was broken I just needed a dedicated video card for the amd 750k i was using.
