Every time when I run the windows readiness tool I will end up with a blank update history page, no windows features and updates cease to function. Symptoms it is supposed to fix but I did not have before running it.
The only way out,as far as I know, is getting an image back.
Is there anybody with the same problem and possibly a fix?

Well if your system is running fine then I would ignore that update. Instead download the update separately from Microsoft and search for reasons why it will not install. I would assume there should be an error message in your windows event log or elsewhere.
