Hi guys,

i have Buffalo HD-PCU2 500GB, when i plug in tousb it dose not show up in My computer,

I went to disk Management, My external hard drive is saying Disk 1 Unknown 2048.00GB not initialized, its showing 2TB instead 500GB, i hear tick sound while the blue light glows..

its asking me to initialize with 2 options MBR and GPT, if i select MBR it is throwing out error saying "the request could not be performed due to I/O device error"

please help me out fix this

The ticking sound (usually referred to as a "clicking sound") is usually bad news of the worst kind - - a failed hard drive. The clicking is the sound of the read/write heads trying to free themselves from the platters against which they have crashed and become trapped.

My guess is that when you test it with "SeaTools for Windows", it will confirm drive failure by throwing up one or more errors.
I hope I'm wrong on this occasion for your sake, but do test it: http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/downloads/item/seatools-win-master/
