Need help in picking the right GPU and CPU.

As the title suggest, I need some suggestions on what GPU to buy for 1600x900 resolution. I plan to play next-generation games like BF4, AC4, GTAV ( when it comes out for PC ) etc, etc.

What do you suggest?


Also, I want to hear suggestions about CPU overclocking.

Do I go for non-k, i5 3570 or i5 3570k and buy an expensive Z77 board for overclock. What is the %performance per mhz increment an overclock offers for having a 3570K and spending 70-100usd for a Z77 board just to overclock as opposed to just having a cheap ASUS non-OC board and running i5 3570 on stock speeds?

With 7970 yes you will gain but it is going to vary in games and I would be guessing the fps but it would be a percentage of the overclock since it is not only the CPU that decides gaming performance.

If you have a mediocre GPU you gain not much from CPU overclock alone. If you have a top GPU and overclock from 3.4 to 4.5 GHz or almost 30% you will notice difference.
For your resolution I would go with HD7850/70 or GTX 650Ti boost and really the question about OC you will have to answer but the 3570 none K is still a very good CPU and will play well with powerful GPU's.

you mean to say with a perhaps 7970 I gain 30% performance for a 1.1ghz overclock? How much difference exactly? 10+ fps?
