Check my specs. Am I spending too much on something?

Here is my PC I am considering to build for GAMING purposes!
i7 4770k haswell
z87-pro mobo
sapphire hd7970 vapor-x 3gb gpu
corsair 750w modular
crucial 240gb SSD
2TB Western Digital HDD
h100i CPU cooler
Kingston Technology 8gb 2400mhz

If anyone could suggest, improvements for similar cost or tell me if I am spending too much on something like mobo... IDK!! Thanks

I'd also recommend the i5, but not as strongly. the 4670k would be the i5 equivalent.

The hyperthreaded 4-cores are becoming more valuable for gaming, and will only pick up steam. Crysis 3 does much better on the i7 (which can utilize 8 threads) than the i5 (even the 8 core AMD chips beat the I5 in crysis 3). The Watch Dogs developers have announced that their game will use up to 6 threads.

Still, it doesn't quite yet justify the price, imho.

I've heard the noctua Nh d14 is very good and cheaper than 100i, is that good?

That Noctua cooler is an excellent route, I'd go with an i5-4770, personally.
