Recently I changed out my mother board and had to reinstall windows 7 and reinstall all my games. The problem is that with window index my gpu fails and with crysis 3 and shogun 2 they crashed and gave me the BSOD. I have good reason to believe the games didnt install properly becuase my pc fell asleep and all my games (over 8) magically downloaded within two hours. My question is can an improperly installed game cause the BSOD.

my specs are:
fx 8350
corsair h80i
gigabyte 990fxa-UD5
16g of gskill ram
sapphire 7970 oc with boost
750 w plus 80 bronze coolermaster

It is possible, but not likely. Games dont really change system settings to screw up the system. The worst that could happen is the game running into an error and quitting. I havent heard of games that caused BSODs. Also, software wise, maybe your install of windows is screwed

I actually found the reason so on my previous mobo i was able to to reach a 4.7 ghz oc on a little voltage boost for my cpu foolish me assumed that this new better motherboard will be able to over clock effortlessly i achieved a 4.5 ghz oc with i think a 1.75 v boost and everything runs perfect my max temps are 57c
