unable to get past UEFI to install win 7 from USB

hey all,
im trying to install Win 7 via USB but everytime i exit the UEFI it reboots back into UEFI

My specs are as follows
Cpu - i5-4570
GPU - Asus GTX 660
Mobo - Asus Z87-Pro
RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X
SSD - Kingston 120Gb
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 2 TB

If you press enter on the drive in the BOOT override section of UEFI does it BOOT the drive then or not? If not, I think something wrong with the installer on the USB stick or some strange compatibility issue.

usb device is recognizes the drive, usb is number one in boot priority, and usb support is fully initialized

this makes no sense to me, its new out of the box, all the settings are right, but it wont boot past uefi
