economical on ink printer for w. 8

My 3510 deskjet HP printer, brand new to go with new HP Pavilion 23 computer has disgustingly little ink in cartridges. Cartridges - two needed - cost only a few dollars less than printer! Shame on you HP!! Looking for another printer/scanner any brand more economical in ink! Can't download driver fro old HP 825c either...best printer ever made.
Long time loyal user disgusted bigtime with HP!!! Any suggestions on other printers compatible with 8??? Thanks in advance!!!

If you print a lot of black/white pages, you should get a laser jet. Cost a bit more up front but a lot cheaper cost per page printed.
