I'm on a 800$ budget for GPU's. I'm into an upgrade over my current GTX 770. Now, should I got for XFX R9 280X CrossfireX or should I wait until nvidia releases it's next GPU's line?

I do lots of gaming as well as filming rendering. I render using GPU's instead of CPU. Besides, I'm planing on to getting a 3 monitor set up near in the future.

If you are on that budget I would wait till Tuesday to see reviews of the 290 and 290x and prices. See what they can do and if you can get two 290's. In my opinion I say if you are going three monitors go with two cards. So yes on the two 280x just look for the best cooling system. Come Tuesday if you can afford two 290's then go with them.

That would be no problem since my Phantom 410 it's running under 8 performance fans at 2222RPM on a load. 1 rear, 2 top exhaling. 1 bottom, 3 front, 1 window side inhaling. Mix of 140MM and 120MM to keep airflow as cool as possible.

What would be no problem? cooling? If not then get the best looking in your opinion. I'm guessing its the XFX. Just overclock that card, it can do more.

Yea, I was already getting the XFX. The cooling it's no problem, AT ALL. Look at my PC on the link on top of the thread.

I have 'em on my cart already. So, 280x instead of 290? Or should I just wait until tuesday?

If you don't mind waiting, I would wait. For all we know that card could be $500 and you are looking at $1000 for two cards.

It's 500$, but I'm selling my 770 for 300$ so makes it 800$.

In that case if you wanna wait then wait but I can almost bet that the 290 won't be $400. Your safe bet is to get the two cards today so they don't sell out and they will be enough for three monitors. Its what I'm going with for my eyefinity setup. Maybe the smarter choice is to wait and hope the 290 is $400. If its not and your XFX is sold out then just get another 280x cause I bet they won't be sold out entirely. More than likely the XFX won't be either.
