Hello, I'm planning on buying the Sennheiser PC 360 headset which will be used mainly for gaming.
Do I have to buy a new sound card in order to run it at its fullest? I'm currently running this mboard in case you need to know - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z77V_PRO/

Any helpful comment by people that are aware of that stuff will be appreciated.

Both the sound card and the motherboard use a digital codec. Both have really good signal to noise and do a very good job reproducing audio, especially for headphones.

The big difference is that the card will support 7.1 audio and the motherboard (mid range 990 or mid range Z/H77 will support 5.1 Neither are applicable for headphones users.

I wouldn’t bother with the add on… unless you are mixing audio professionally.

The question is: will it be working at its fullest without a new sound card? If I have to buy a new soundcard, then which one to buy? I already found this one in case of buying a new sound card - http://www.e-shop.gr/product?id=PER.540210
