I recently got an 7990 from Sapphire tech, and I got all the latest drivers (13.11 as of 10/13/13) but I still have issues while playing games. For instance, in Total War Rome 2 multiple graphical issues occur, such as a weird fat curved line in the water while playing a naval battle and every minute or so the game freezes briefly then resumes, and fps isnt great either at 20-40 fps on only very high settings. I know that the 7990 is pretty much two 7970s in Crossfire, but I was wondering if anyone could help me out because the 7990 isnt exactly cheap and I would hate for it to be a wasted investment. Thank you! (and please dont tell me to get nvidia. trust me I would but i dont have the money currently)
Setup:
i7-4770
AMD HD 7990 6gb
2560x1440@60Hz
16gb RAM

ok. understand ROME is 100% cpu dependant. I hate to tell you this, but you'll have to overclock your cpu. you're not the only person struggling to play Rome2 with a badass intel, but it's a horribly coded game that gives extreme edition intel chips headaches. There are people with SLi titans who are struggling to get playable framerates with overclocked intels... Without a solid overclock you'll struggle to play that game on it's highest graphic settings.

so either turn down the graphic candy, or overclock your cpu.

side note: the computer says i have 2 gb of dedicated video memory but the card is 6 gb so it should be 3 gb instead of 2 gbof dedicated memory but it should be 3 gb because of crossfire, correct?

I am having similar issues with my 7990 and Rome II. I'm sure you've disabled crossfire in the catalyst center, and noticed that the performance is better and less glitchy but you can't play on max settings. It's really annoying...
