Hello everyone. I cleaned my system 3 days back; started it, everything was fine. Temperatures were also reduced. Next day when i turned it on, never reached the explorer screen. It kept turning itself off. Now the system is not taking power at all. I checked the psu with a simple fan circuit. Don't have a multimeter right now, but will have it soon. How can i check the motherboard. Need a circuit.

Before you get a multimeter do a paper clip test on PSU. On 24pin ATX find the Green wire and any Black wire and short the wires by putting the paper clip into them, see the fan, it's spinning or not.

If the PSU is ok, then take out all the RAM sticks and start the PC, if the MB beeps then its ok, if not then its dead.

Or do a bread board test.

I already did the paper clip test. Fan was running fine. I'm going to check the circuit for power switch that goes through ICH. If cmos battery is dead; could it be a reason for not powering up the cpu. Any other thing that i should check before declaring my mobo dead.

Update bios, clear CMOS.

If FAN is fine, how you ste sure that your mobo is dead?

Try not using RAM sticks first, then try with 1 stick(then another etc).

No dead CMOS battery cant be the reason of not getting power. As I said earlier take out all ram sticks and start the MB if it beeps its ok , if not its most likely dead.
And try another PSU to be more sure. Good luck.

Looks like the board is gone. I need its circuit to check the components. Where can I find one. I tried but couldn't.
Also plz suggest me a board for my config. I require only 2 pci e 3.0 slots. Below INR 15000 or $250

Before you declare your board is dead, make sure by testing it.

Disconnect every device from your board & PSU-> Just use CPU-> try to boot-> Check for beep noise(as you have removed your memory sticks).

Let us know after doing this.
