i5 3570k/4670k - i7 3370k

Hey people. So originally I was going with a full on AMD build (FX 8350 + 7950), but due to recent events I have been able to save so much money. Like picking a EVGA GTX 660 for half price that had rarely been used. I am going to be gaming mostly, and am looking forward to BF4. I want to be able to play on High Quality 60 fps at 1080p, everything don't have to be completely maxed out, (Like Shadows Ultra down to High example) to gain fps.

So which CPU should I get? Where I am there's a sale on the 4670k, and it's only 3 pound more than the 3570k. Or should I go with the i7 3770k, as the hyperthreading will help now that games seem to be utilizing more than 4 cores?

Thanks in advance

  1. Your bottleneck would be the graphics card no matter which CPU you pick of those 3.

Check the article on the front page of Tom's... use the drop down to go to high quality @ 1920x1080.
You can see that the 660 will only get ~40FPS at that resolution even with the most powerful CPU.

Hope this helps, just go with the 4670k IMO. Newer architecture and if it's around the same price you won't be missing out on anything.
