SSD WEI score was 7.3, but remains 5.9 after installing then removing HDDs.

1st: I know just enough to be dangerous. I can follow directions & put stuff together, but if it doesn't work, well, I'm no trouble-shooter.

Issue: Building a desktop. Had a barebones box [SSD, DVD, keyboard, mouse, monitor] up and running w/ a new Samsung SSD. Everything was awesome and my WEI score was a 7.3, which was a first/pretty sweet.

Installed two HDDs to move some files between them/ready one for a reformat. Score dropped to 5.9 = expected.

Removed both HDDs/went back to the barebones config, and now the SSD is still only giving me a 5.9. I changed/transferred nothing to/from the SSD while I was working on the HDDs.

Re-ran Samsung's Magician software and double-checked BIOS settings/AHCI/etc, and all seems the same. WTF?

I just want to make sure I'm not losing performance for some stupid reason. Otherwise, I don't give a hoot about the WEI score.

Basics:
Sabertooth Z87 board
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
16 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
4095 MB Total available graphics memory
SSD = 173GB Free (233GB Total)
Win7 Ultimate 64 bit

Thanks ahead of time!

I typically don't, but was just concerned when it didn't go back up. If there's a setting I missed resetting after uninstalling the HHDs, then I want to make sure I got everything hooked up correctly is all....

I suppose the way to check would be to verify the actual speed of the SSD's data transfer rate [since that's what it's dinging me on]? Is there an easy way to do that? *is still learning her new system*

Ah! Was just thinking that in the post above. Thanks for the link, will give that a try! :)

Update: Dug around and found the benchmarking info via Samsung Magician software that came with the drive. Speeds seem fine, so I'll take yours and rgd1101's advice and not worry about it. Thanks for letting me "talk" this one through!
