windows 8 downgrade

Solution
You can certainly install older operating systems onto computers. Though given how soon Microsoft is dropping support I can't say that is a good idea for your only OS.

Dual boot is an option, which would require partitioning your hard drive. Or running Windows XP in a virtual machine, such as virtual box.

Given the option I would downgrade to Win 7 Pro and instal XP mode (it's Virtual PC with better integration but doesn't have proper access to your graphics card so you can't play games on it). It would be nice to hear what you want XP for, we might be able to make another suggestion.
