I am looking to buy a new video card. I would like to spend between $200-300. I have a dual monitor set up but I only game on one of them. I want a card that will play games on ultra at 1920x1080 resolution. My PSU is a Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W. I have a FX 8320 overclocked to FX 8350 specs. I don't want anything that runs too hot or that uses a super high amount of power. I was considering a R9 280x but it seems like they use a lot of power. (but I still might buy one if its worth it) Anything from a GTX 670 to a HD 7950 would be ok. Please assist me in make a selection.

The AMD cards are indeed more power hungry, but your power supply should handle them just fine. The "new" 280x cards are really just a 7970, which if you find a sale somewhere can be slightly cheaper, seen them with rebates for as little as $260. For one 1080p monitor a GTX 670 or 760 would be all you would need from the Nvidia side, and I've seen the AMD HD7950s for around $200 when on sale with a rebate. But honestly anything in that price range from either company will run great for you :) Just pick a reliable manufacturer with a decent cooler on it for tweaking
