Faulty GPU or MOBO

Hello,
I was playing DayZ when my system had shut down as if I experienced a power cut and refused to turn back on. I had purchased a new power supply which allowed my computer to power back up but I received one long beep followed by three short beeps with a red LED light upon my motherboard. I replaced my graphics card ( ATI 6850HD ) with an older one MSI NX7300GT which everything booted up correctly and everything seemed fine. So at that point I presumed that my graphics card ( 6850HD ) was faulty and no longer working. I had found myself another graphics card ATI 4000 series because it was better than the MSI and I received the same error as the 6850HD which has me absolutely confused.
So I thought I'd test a few things out, I cleared CMOS and tried once again with my 4600HD series and it booted up and is now working correctly. ( I'm even using it now to write this out. ) So I thought perhaps I should try again with my 6850HD and it booted up and everything worked correctly and loaded into windows without any problems. I played a quick game of DayZ and updated a few things and then decided to restart the computer. As soon as the computer powered down and powered itself back up I received the one long beep followed by three short beeps and the red LED light illuminates on the motherboard. I've tried clearing CMOS once again but with no luck. I've tried the 6850HD in another computer and it works without any problems as far as I am aware. ( I didn't perform any stress testing or anything. )
So I am now baffled on what to do. Does my GPU need replaced or perhaps my MOBO due to the similar error that was rectified with the 4600HD series.

Here is a few details of what I am using to try and help what type of components I'm using:
CPU: FX-8120
MOBO: Sabertooth 990FX
-BIOS Version: 1604
HDD1: WDC 2TB
HDD: ST 1TB
Powersupply: 700 Watt
I would appreciate any suggestions or any thoughts on what I should do.
If any more information is required, please let me know.
Thanks you in advance!

Sounds like a board problem to me as well.
Might also want to experiment with removing memory drop down to 1 stick run the system
see if it's stable if so add another one ect. see if the problem is in your RAM.

Thank you all for your speedy responses, I highly appreciate it.

I just filled in the form for online technical services with Asus requesting for an RMA. It just seems weird that it's working at this moment of time with a different graphics card. But perhaps it's because the card I'm using now 4600HD doesn't need it's own power supply or something.

I don't know if this makes a difference but I have 24pins next to the CPU and where it has 6pins for the top of the motherboard I am only using 4pins as my power supply didn't have 6pins. But in the 990FX manual that did say it was fine.

six pin power auxiliary in asus highend mobo is useful to stabilize processor with extreme overclocking..with LN2 cooler..

if you don't want to break overclocking world record, then 4+4pin power to your motherboard is perfectly fine..

Hey,
So I replaced my motherboard to the Crosshair V Formula-Z and encountered the same error. So I'm guessing it's a safe bet to say that it's now the GPU that's faulty? Even though it works in another computer.
