installed audio drivers no sound

I have successfully installed the audio driver i.e AC 97 audio controller but no sound in the speaker. please can anybody help me solve this issue or is it the problem with the hardware.

hang-the-9
Check the Device Manager, make sure it's actually installed with no errors. Make sure the cable is in the right port, nothing is muted in the options and the speakers are working with another system.
