Ok my PC specs are: Motherboard: P5G41T-M LX, Proc: Q8400, HDD: Seagate (10.1 i think) 400 GB. 4GB RAM. 980W Power Supply... and other things that i don't think are related to the issue.

The issue: The computer was on, my brother kicked the Case by mistake (Thermaltake V3) At the bottom front panel. Well the pc restarted itself and said "Please insert proper media device bla bla bla". The thing is that now the computer will not recognize ANYTHING plugged to SATA. I did not tried anything IDE because i don't have any. Yes the HDD turns on and spins also de CD drive. But nothing is recognized by the MOBO. I also tried different SATA cables. I also tried resetting BIOS to default settings... removed CMOS... Tried another HDD also... NOTHING... So i'm thinking it could be the SATA ports on the actual MOBO... Any other ideas?

Solution
Its one of 2 things (assuming connections wires ect are good) The HDD is damaged or the motherboard is damaged. Try the HDD in another machine if you can and see if is working on that. If its not showing the CD drive either then he could of damaged the main board.

If the issue is with the SATA ports, which i'm pretty sure it is, is there any way to fix them?

UPDATE: I just let that mobo go. Replaced with a new one (different model).
