Hey Guys!
I need help with my new gaming monitor.
Now I have a 2560x1440 monitor picked out (Free Express X-STAR DP2710LED 27" 2560x1440 Samsung PLS Panel Monitor) and I was going to get a really really cheap crap second monitor just so I can have Wikipedias and Skype Calls etc. on it while I was playing on my main 2560x1440 monitor. I was wondering if this was possible or if it would mess anything up i.e. try and put the game across the two monitors in the crap resolution.
Thanks for your help!

You can have 2 monitors of different resolution no problem, I have a 24" 1080p and 17" VGA crappy thing (they both run at different resolutions). I use the 24" for gaming while the other has internet or some other rubbish on it while i game. Depending on the GPU you can span games over them both but the picture top and bottom will be missing on the smaller screen (note most games wont let you span 2 monitors by default). I have a gtx680 and use a util called SoftTH to dual screen games and it works great (AMD cards use Eyefinity to run games over 2 or more screens where as Nvidia cards require at least 3 screens for multi monitor gaming) and you can run some games in window mode and stretch across both screens eg minecraft.. Again it...

Again it all depends on your GPU weather you can Dual screen games but you will have no problem using a second screen for random stuff while gaming (providing your GPU supports 2 monitors). You will know if your GPU supports more than 1 monitor as it will have 2 or more outputs on the card.

Thank you so much! I am not interested in multi-monitor gaming, I have a corner (L) Desk so I was just going to have my 27'' in front of me and have the crap one on my right just for random stuff. Really glad I can do that though, thanks for helping! I am new to this stuff :D
