Built this computer about 9 months ago. all of a sudden lately when i power on i will get no signal. usually a reset button will fix it but now i cant get her to go. have tried removing gfx, ram, reseated cpu and all cables/plugs/connections.
also tried the cmos clear.
i get nothing on the monitor nor will my keyboard screen light up.
I do have 4 leds on the mobo near the cpu on, all fans on.

gfx hd4870
phenom 965
nzxt700w power supply
2x8gb gskill ddr3 ram

just tried my other psu, same result. note that it only has a 4 pin power for cpu whereas newer ps and mobo have 8 pin.

Edit: 1st try failed, hit reset now it fired up. guess i may have found my gremlin.
damn new psu isnt supposed to fail this soon my old 585 orion psu has been heavily used for 7 years and still runs strong :O

would that be normal for it to have same issue on first attempt of startup?

That was short lived. since that initial bootup it has worked 3 times and not worked 100. so apparently issue is elsewhere.
I dont know what else to do, any other computer would at least beep out some codes or hang on a load screen or give an error. this thing just sits there with a black screen.
also tried using each ram separatly in each slot. tried booting without video card. tried removing 2nd HDD and dvdrom just to ease up on power.
I need some ideas here. thanks
