How to force my video card as the primary display, because my BIOS automatically chooses intel graphics as the primary display

My video card runs fine, my power supply runs fine, they aren't the issue.
The problem is that sometimes when turning on my PC after turning it off, I get no display on my monitor. When I plug my VGA cable from the video card to the I/O panel (for integrated graphics), I get a display. I've attempted to fix this by going into the BIOS and selecting the PCIE slot as the primary display, but whenever I reset my system it seems to default back to 'Auto', which selects the integrated graphics as the primary display instead, meaning that I can't get my video card to override this. How can I fix this? Should I clear the CMOS? Should I disable/uninstall the integrated graphics entirely so they won't be selected? I've been stressing this out for over a year, I just want to play my games and I can't do that with integrated graphics.

I'm not even sure how I resolved this in the first place but when that did happen I used my computer and played my games normally, only whenever I fully turned off the computer and turned it back on the problem came back. When I fix this, I'm never turning off my computer again.

Maybe. If it's dead, how would I even replace it?
For now I'll clear the CMOS and try again and reply if anything happens.

Update: I cleared the CMOS jumper but I'm still not getting any display from my video card whenever I plug the VGA cable into it. Should I have removed the battery when I cleared the jumper though? The battery is actually under where my video card is so I'd have to remove the card to access the battery...

Update: I cleared the CMOS jumper and also removed the battery this time and then replaced it, but it still didn't work. Only my VGA cable in the motherboard/integrated graphics will show a display. I can set the primary display to 'PCIE' in my BIOS but when I swap the cable to my video card I still don't get a display. Using an HDMI cable doesn't work either, my monitor keeps automatically switching back and forth between HDMI and Analog whenever I plug an HDMI cable in and will not stop switching between them unless I unplug the HDMI cable. I feel like just giving up.

Could I possibly disable integrated graphics so my system doesn't automatically switch to it as the primary display? But if that doesn't work, how would I enable it again so I could at least get a display?

Could I possibly have a power supply issue? One of my case fans appears to be broken because it spins slower than the other two fans and also makes a grinding noise.

Could it be my monitor somehow malfunctioning?

Could it be that my video card and motherboard are incompatible with each other? I have an MSI 660 Ti and an ASUS P8Z77-V.
Should I sell my video card and perhaps get an ASUS one of the same model? I've heard that certain MSI cards from this series have been incompatible with ASUS boards, so maybe I got one of the bad batch (in which case I'm never buying an MSI product again)

One more option I have left that I can do from home is seeing if I have any drivers to update for my video card and BIOS. I'll try to do that and post another update, but I'm not getting my hopes up this time.
