I have an XFX 7870 ghz edition and a HIS 7870 ghz edition, currently...

My brother has 2 MSI GTX 670 power edition cards and said he'd do an even trade with me if I wanted....

Am I better off with my AMD cards, or should I make the trade?

I currently pretty much only play Battlefield 3 & 4.

More about : trade 7870

I would suggest not. Unless power consumption is an issue for you those two 7870s are much faster than a single 670.

Individually, the cards are comparable performers.
But in sli the nvidia cards have less lagging or stuttering than amd cards in crossfire.
This is being looked at by amd, but not well resolved yet.

I would keep your 7870s, in XF they should eat up a single 670.

It is a toss up but the 670s SLI better than the AMD cards, so in that case I would go for it...just my opinion.

why does he want to trade?

MSI's GTX 670 Power Edition uses the famous Twin Frozr IV cooler from the MSI Lightning and comes with a large clock speed boost out of the box, making its default clock speed even higher than GTX 680 stock clocks.I would trade him without even thinking twice the 670 is much faster then a 7870.It's a little faster then a 7950.The choice is a no brainer imo.

Performance wise I would place them 7870>7950>670>7970=680 in a general idea anyway.

2x 670s are almost the same as 2x 7970s.

Im sure you understand what must be done.

not sure why your bro wants to trade though. They probably have coil whine.

Well, the 670 was mine to start with, and the 7870 his... but I got a really good deal on a 7870, and I asked him if he wanted my gtx 670 for his single 7870 and of course, he said yes.... So, I now have the two.... and he got another 670.... But supposedly, BF4 will run better on AMD cards, so he wants to trade back./

Good deal, you should be kind to your good friend and trade him as quick as you can before he changes his mind :)
