Hi I'm making my first build and when I put all the parts together and turned the power on the standby LED turned on but nothing else happened. I did the paper clip test with my psu and it worked, but when it's plugged in with my motherboard the psu fan doesn't go on. I checked that all my wires were correctly placed, and I checked my cpu to make sure it wasn't burnt or anything. I took it out of the chassis to make sure it wasn't shorting out but it still had the same results.
My build is
-Asus sabertooth 990fx
-G.Skill 16gb ram
-Radeon hd 7870 ghz edition
-cooler master gx series psu 650w
-cpu is amd fx-8350 "Vishera"
-case is had 932 advanced
Please help, I contacted asus tech support but they were useless

All right I tried that but nothing different happened. Here is the link to the ram I've got http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231660

Try ruling out a power switch issue. Disconnect all the front panel wires (power reset switches and leds) and start the board by shorting with a screwdriver the 2 pins on the motherboard corresponding to the power switch. Check the manual for the correct location.

I did what you told me to do but nothing changed, by now I'm starting to think that my motherboard is faulty. Its really frustrating that I have no idea what to do
