Liquid Cooling Ideas, Need Help!

Hello everyone I am looking for some help in cooling my CPU i5-3570K, I have recently taken to running SETI@home. But doing so on my stock cooler leads to max temps of 85C. I was wondering what coolers you all recommend air or closed loop. Also if I installed a closed loop could I have it in the top of my Azza Solano case and leave the 230mm fan in to pull exhaust air while having the 2 fans on the radiator pushing air up through? Would that be a good idea? That is if I decide on liquid cooling, let me know what you all think, also I may be interested in OC'ing.

Thanks,

Patrick

IT would depend on if the case has supports for 120mm fans under the top or not. If you are willing to make a bracket, you can do anything you want.

Even something like a CM 212 will be a good improvement over the stock cooler(I would guess you would be down to the 60-70 range if not lower). It is cheap not overly loud and easy to install.

It appears the side fan HAS to be removed to fit something like the 212 This does depend on your socket location and if it was high enough and the cooler could fit sideways(as long s it clears the memory) it may still work with the side fan

If you want to go with liquid, the H80i would fit the stock 120mm rear fan spot on the case, but the H100i is much better(at least it is if you are overclocking).

Honestly without high overclocks the cheap way out is the 212 for sure. If the height is an issue something like the Freezer 7 pro may work for you since it is shorter.

This guy who modded his case did what I was thinking and has a 240mm radiator in the top: http://www.overclock.net/t/933048/blue-giant-azza-solano-case-mod-and-water-cooling

How hard do you think that would be to do and what all would I need?

They would be better by a good margin; here
Not just because of the fans and temps you get in the bundle but the option to expand upon your loop is now possible.

All the other CLC's except for the Coolermaster Eisberg unit aren't expandable.

If you are interested, there's also a 360 version of the Eisberg and Swiftech Coolers dubbed H320 for the latter. Nukemaster has it right, they were sued by Asetek and eventually had to discontinue sales BUT they are creative lil people they are... you can order your units from Canada or from other cities except the states. Asetek can't do anything about sales outside USA :)
