I recently upgraded my rig to the new 280x, expecting that I could max any game at 1080p. Unfortunately that's not what I've been experiencing, I get like a 5 fps difference with this then with my old 560ti and benchmarks I've seen around on the internet suggest that shouldn't be happening... I'm running:
-Core i7 920 OC to 3.8ghz
-6gb ddr3 ram @ 1066mhz
-An average 1TB hardrive that has been showing its age
-and the new MSI 280x
Even though my processor and ram is kinda old and outdated it's not bad, could there be a bottleneck? Thanks
Edit: Also due to my old and prety cramped Antec 900 case I had to mount my gpu right next to the power supply, and my temps are pretty hot, hotter then how my 560ti was. It idles around 40 degrees C and I just did furmark and I stopped runnign it once my GPU got to 92 degrees but It looked like it would still climb, is it limiting it's clock because of that?
