Micro ATX VS Mini ITX?

Hey guys I was wondering what would be a better option:

A) To build a Micro ATX system with a Maximus VI Gene and 4770K in a 350D with 2 XFX R9 280X GPUS.

B) To build a Mini ITX system with a Maximus VI Impact and a GTX 780 in a BitFenix Prodigy.

I keep jumping between which one and I want clarity as to what would be money better spent, thanks in advance.

Go for Option A.

Option B seems a odd looking build.

Micro-ATX: Less reliable but more expandability.

Again I'm not sure if this is totally correct, however based on reviews that I have read (a lot) this would be my suggestion. Drop the Micro-ATX and go for the Mini-ITX (since it is i-5 compatible as well)

There are better options for Micro ATX than Mini ITX. So I would opt for A unless you have a build set up for both options to compare.

your better off using the new atx mini/itx bit case and micro atx mb. the micro atx mb have room to sli the mb if you need too.

I think option B is the better choice if you want a small case that packs a punch.

The impact practically offers everything you need for a single card gaming PC. You will likely spend about the same on either build too.

Some large negatives are no SLI, lack of hard drive and solid state expandability, slightly higher temperatures, limited on maximum memory, etc.

Why is the size so important? It seems your going for a smaller build, but is portability an issue?

Yeah thanks a lot you helped me decide, I definitely want the expandability of a larger storage option and SLI/Crossfire, and also the 350D isn't even that much bigger than the prodigy.

I have the microATX maximus vi gene you are looking at, overclocked to 4.4Ghz and it is very stable. Haven't tried overclocking any higher, as I don't feel the need to yet. Highly recommend this board. I also have the case you are looking at, and love it.

I will add though, that this case (350D) is not really a small case. It is a little shorter than a mid-tower, but easily just as wide.

I have the 350D, it definitely isn't as small as other cases, I think it's the perfect in between for a small and medium case. You can add several SSD(5 or 6?), but limited to only two mechanical hard drives.
