How do I find motherboards that support 220w CPUs?

I just found out that my old mobo, a 970a-g46, only supports up to 140w CPUs. I jsut got an FX-9370 which is 220w.

Problem is nobody lists max wattages on sites like newegg. Can someone recommend an inexpensive mobo that handles 220w?

I don't think there is an AMD 220w TDP board yet. Which is funny for the 9*** series. But there are recommended boards-but they aren't really price friendly. ~160+ dollars.

If you go to supported CPU's, it'll say 9370. BUT the board states its TDP is 140w. It's under testing is what they claim, but it'll work. You might not get 100% or you will, they clocked the chips at 8gHz and it worked. So 5 should be...

Well the issue is, most of those mobos only support up to 140w cpus. my current mobo supports the cpu, but cant handle it under intense loads. I'm sure it would be the same for any of these other mobos

So fast with your reply. :D According to Asus, they're 990FX chipset boards all support it. It this just Asus exclusive, or 990fx chipset exclusive?

I know, but I was asking if you can use the 9 series CPU on all 990fx chip mobo's. Or is that an Asus exclusive thing?

The ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ AMD 990FX supports it I think. It was used to do the largest overclock in the world. maybe check that out.
