Hi

I recently got a Asus Xonar DG mainly to get rid of the static sound i get when recording with onboard audio. Anyway the card/driver installation was easy and the card works but the line in (pink jack)'s audio is too loud and distorted.

I've tried turning down the "Mix" setting in Xonar Audio CP but the sound is still distorted (but quieter), changing the other levels (mic in, aux, etc...) don't do anything.

Anyway i've recorded 5 secs of some James Bond movie so you guys can hear what i mean:

WARNING: Turn your audio down.

Note i've used the same audio levels both times to record the sound, the audio in the video isnt that good but you guys will get the point.

This is the setup is use:
PS3 ----> Splitter ------------> (1), (2), (3)
(1) Capture card (vga in)
(2) Computer line in/Xonar DG (3.5mm jack)
(3) Monitor

I can't, the splitter splits the HDMI signal to VGA/Audio out. But that shouldn't make a difference as the sound is pretty good using the onboard audio (minus the static)

Try to install the UNi Xonar drivers in place of the official drivers from Asus.

Do you have smart volume, hi-fi, or that gx mode enabled? If so play with them and see how they affect your sound.

UNi Xonar drivers didnt help, and the Hi-Fi and GX modes make no difference.

I've also used the component out to test audio with no luck, taking the splitter out of the equation makes no difference.
