Hey im ready to go pick up my new stuff after a few checks and questions. A friend is helping to build but i want to know if this is compatible..?

MSI G45 Z87 Gaming
Haswell 1150 i5 4670k
3G 7970 Saphire
PSU Tx650 corsair
Noctua D14 cooling
Define R4 case
SATA DVD LG
WD black 1TB
2x8GB RAM corsair

Is it worth the extramoney for an Nvidia GTX770 (2GB/4GB) VGA and will an additional SSD make much improvement in speed/security?
Thanks

Parts are all compatible. I'll leave the graphics card question for now, as I don't think nvidia has dropped their prices yet (apparently they should be with AMD's new releases). I am going to add that I have seen negative opinions on MSI boards in this forum. I have never owned one myself, but I can vouch for Asus, or Asrock as being of good quality and having great customer service. See what some others say for more opinions.

An SSD makes windows boot times insanely fast, as well as loading screens on games, but for actual gaming itself, it does not improve frames per second. Personally, now that I have had an SSD I can't imagine not having one just for the windows boot times alone, but I would put them in the optional category. If on a budget, the SSD should probably be sacrificed in order to get better graphics cards for example. But in your case, based on the parts you are picking, you're not too worried about another $100 or so for an SSD so pick one up for sure!

That's a question I'm asking myself as well. I have the 2gb version of the GTX 770, and it is amazing. BF4 is just coming out, and they are recommending 3gb, first time I've seen a game do that. I'm playing the beta though, and am having a great time, the 2gb is holding up fine (at 1920x1080).
