I am a Pc gamer and I've always had some wifi speed issues. I recently found out my wifi card only gets up to 150 mbps so when I build my new PC I will get one with 300 mbps. I did a speed test and I only had 5 mbps download speed. How can I make this work faster. By the way the wiring under my house is bad. Will getting a new router help? And can I get a router in my room that connects to the one downstairs? I don't know much about internet.

What kind of speed test did you do?

Make sure you're not confusing INTERNET speed with WIRELESS speed. You can have the fastest wi-fi in the world, but if your internet plan is only 5mbps down, then you'll never get anything faster than 5mbps, no matter what.

You'll also want to make sure your router is also a fast router, and that it's placed in an ideal location. If your router is real far from your computer or there's a lot of walls and stuff in between you and the router, your wireless signal will suffer.

Honestly, if speed is what you REALLY want, then you could just use an...

Honestly, if speed is what you REALLY want, then you could just use an ethernet cord. That's as fast as you can get.
