In trying to fix a problem (Internet Explorer stalls at 100% processing but never responds), I copied a Windows file from a second identical working computer and overlayed the same file on the trouble computer. I copied and renamed the file on the trouble computer before overlaying the file. Now Windows won't come up, instead it starts but gets into a loop that refers to a password not matching, then restarting again, repeatedly.
I need to be able to rename the backup file to its original name but can't get to a cmd line. I've tried the more common ways to get to a cmd line (via f-keys) and even from a series of setup disks that used to lead to a cmd line. This no longer works either.
Is there anything else I can try? Thanks
